Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 21, 2026 / Effective: July 21, 2026

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") applies to the Zen Bubble mobile application (the "App") and describes how the App's developer ("Developer", "we", or "us") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the App. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

This Policy is the English translation of the original Japanese version of our Privacy Policy. In the event of any inconsistency between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.

In short: The App requires no account. Your breathing records, journal entries, and other data are stored only on your device — we do not operate any server that can receive or read them. Microphone audio is analyzed in real time only and is never recorded, saved, or transmitted. The App shows no ads, does not track you, and currently uses no third-party analytics services.

1. Information We Collect

We handle the categories of information described below in order to provide the App. We do not engage in "tracking" as defined by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework (NSPrivacyTracking = false), we do not collect the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), and no App Tracking Transparency consent prompt is shown. The App contains no advertising, and we currently use no third-party usage-analytics services.

1.1 Information You Create in the App (stored on your device)

The App does not require account registration or sign-in. This information is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to any server operated by us; we cannot view its contents. It is not shared with third parties. Breathing records and journal entries may reflect your state of mind or well-being, but as described above, they never leave your device.

1.2 Microphone (breath sensing)

With your permission, the App uses the microphone to sense when you breathe out and in. Microphone audio is analyzed in real time solely for its volume and frequency characteristics, and is never saved as a recording or transmitted off your device. Granting microphone access is optional; without it, features that rely on breath sensing are unavailable.

1.3 Speech Recognition (voice transcription)

Some features of the App (speaking out your thoughts, voice input for the journal) use Apple's speech recognition technology (the Speech framework) with your permission to convert your speech into text. On devices that support on-device recognition, processing is completed entirely on your device. On devices that do not, audio data may be sent to Apple's servers for processing (Apple's handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy). The App itself never stores the audio. The transcribed text is stored on your device only if you save it as a journal entry.

1.4 Location and Weather (Apple Weather / WeatherKit)

To reflect the real weather in the App's garden scenery, the App — with your permission — obtains your approximate location (low accuracy, roughly city-level) only while you are using the App. This approximate location is sent to Apple's weather service (WeatherKit / Apple Weather) for the sole purpose of retrieving weather information. Your location is never sent to any server operated by us and is not accumulated as a location history on your device. Granting location access is optional; without it, the App remains fully usable — the scenery simply does not reflect your local weather.

1.5 Purchase Information

The App offers an auto-renewable subscription (the "Paid Plan"). When you purchase or restore a subscription, we receive transaction information from Apple (such as App Store transaction ID, product ID, purchase date, and subscription status) in order to verify and maintain your entitlement. This purchase information is sent to and processed and stored on the servers of RevenueCat, Inc. (United States), which provides purchase management and receipt validation. We do not collect credit card numbers or other payment instrument details directly.

1.6 Information You Provide When Contacting Us

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address and the content of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your inquiry.

1.7 Notifications (reminders)

The App's reminder notifications are local notifications scheduled on your device with your permission. No information is transmitted off your device for notifications.

2. How We Collect Information

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above only to:

4. Sharing and External Transmission

4.1 Sharing with Third Parties

We do not share your information with third parties except:

4.2 Service Providers and International Transfers

To operate the App, certain information is transmitted to the following service providers. These providers may be located outside Japan, including in the United States, and information may be transferred to and stored in those countries. None of these transmissions are used to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Transmission of information to the service providers located in the United States may constitute a cross-border transfer of personal data to a third party in a foreign country under Article 28 of Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information. Such transfers are made on the basis of your consent to this Policy. Information about the personal data protection regime of the United States, and about the safeguards each provider has implemented to protect personal data, is available on request through the contact in Section 8. Each provider handles information only to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes described in this Policy and maintains appropriate safeguards.

5. Retention

6. Your Rights and Choices

Because your data exists, in principle, only on your device, you can delete or modify it yourself within the App or through your device (including by deleting the App). You can change the microphone, speech recognition, location, and notification permissions at any time in your device's Settings. For information that we do hold (such as information received through support inquiries), you may request that we notify you of the purpose of use, disclose, correct, add to, delete, suspend the use of, erase, or stop third-party provision of such information by contacting us using the information in Section 8. We may ask for additional information to verify your identity.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent under applicable local law). The App's 4+ age rating reflects the absence of objectionable content and does not indicate that the App is intended for use by children. We do not knowingly collect information from such children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will promptly delete that information. Parents or guardians who believe that their child may have provided information through the App may contact us using the information in Section 8.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in applicable law, the App's functionality, or our practices. If the categories of information collected or the recipients change — for example, if we introduce a third-party analytics service — we will revise this Policy and post the update on this page. The updated Policy will become effective when posted on this page. If the changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice through in-app messages or other appropriate means.

10. Governing Law

This Policy is governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.

Weather Data

Weather data in the App is provided by Apple Weather ( Weather). For data sources and other attribution, see the Apple Weather legal attribution page.

This Policy is provided by the Developer for general informational purposes and is not a substitute for individualized legal advice.
